'grief' art print
'grief' is the first of the 'Seeing Colors' Collection -- a watercolor collection representing feelings and emotions through eyes of synesthesia.
A Personal Note From Katie:
The idea for 'grief' came to me as I was attempting to process the heaviness of the emotion. Growing up as a creative, I decided to get back to my roots and pick up my paintbrush to put the feeling on paper. The piece was painted mostly in front of the glow of my Christmas tree and under the supervision of my trusty sidekick (and furry manager), Mr. Bill. While the depths of grief are felt through this piece, I want to call your attention to the very intentional detail of 'gold' highlights (better seen in the original vs. print) throughout. I wanted this gold to be a reminder that even in the depths of our sorrow and pain, glimmers of hope can be found in even the smallest of things.
